The information provided on this page is intended to give prospective authors a clearer idea of what Blunt Shank wants to publish. Initially we expect our output to fall into three main fields which are discussed in more detail below, but as the company establishes its reputation over the next few years we expect to begin trading in a diverse range of artistic products.



PROSE

We are interested in publishing modern innovative fiction, in particular those narratives which have a hard edge and focus on dark subject matter. Non-fiction works with off-beat themes, training and instruction manuals designed to develop unusual skills, auto/biographies of significant or eccentric human beings and sophisticated comedic works will be considered carefully.

PHOTOGRAPHY

Any photographers with a desire to see their work published should get in contact. In some cases single pictures will be required to adorn publications currently in development, however it is also possible that collections of suitable images around a single theme will be circulated. Blunt Shank is seeking powerful, atmospheric shots with a Gothic or sinister flavour, and high-quality erotic photography in the vein of Doris Kloster or Richard Kern. Images which exploit retro fashions are also desirable.

COMICS

Original comic strip art, comedic or otherwise, with a quirky or twisted tone is of great interest and artists that draw or paint in a style consistent with the Blunt Shank ethos may be commissioned to produce covers or other promotional material.
